Neil Shirley is a 39 year old Santa Clarita resident who describes riding gravel as an activity that “stokes my passion.” Before hopping on the wide tires with drop bars Neil spent ten years racing professionally where three of those were on the mountain bike followed by another seven on the road. Neil has traveled the world wearing spandex while competing in some of the highest forms of racing, and is proud to have been on the podium at both Cross Country Mountain Bike Nationals and Road Nationals. After stepping away from racing he moved over to Road Bike Action magazine where he would continue in the sport he loves as an editor. Following his stint at Road Bike Action he is now the Communications Director for Lyman Agency working with some of the biggest brands in the industry while still making time to get out and ride gravel.
